Fluoride in toothpaste
Why Everykind lists fluoride-free toothpastes with a cavity-risk caveat, and what we refuse to claim.

What it is
Fluoride compounds (for example sodium fluoride, sodium monofluorophosphate) are common toothpaste actives used to help reduce tooth decay. Some natural-positioned pastes are intentionally fluoride-free and may use clays, botanicals, or nano-hydroxyapatite instead.
Why it is a concern
- Fluoride-free pastes can be a deliberate choice; they are not automatically “cleaner” in a cavity-prevention sense.
- High-cavity-risk users who want fluoride deserve an honest on-page caveat — not an anti-fluoride campaign.
- Clinical debates around alternatives (including nano-hydroxyapatite) are real; we label uncertainty instead of picking a side as gospel.
