Undisclosed parfum / fragrance
Why Everykind cuts undisclosed parfum in personal care, how named essential oils differ, and how home care is more relaxed.

What it is
On INCI lists, Parfum or Fragrance can stand for a mixture of scent chemicals that are not individually named. Named essential oils (for example *Citrus limon* oil, lavender oil) are different: the scent source is disclosed even if some people still prefer unscented.
Why it is a concern
- Undisclosed fragrance blocks the transparency bar for leave-on and rinse-off personal care.
- “Natural fragrance” or “perfume” without naming the oils is treated like undisclosed parfum.
- Sensitive skin and “fragrance-free” shoppers cannot verify what they are avoiding.

Safer alternatives we already list
- Prefer short botanical lists with named EOs, or unscented where we can find them (true fragrance-free depth is still a catalog gap)
